I grew up in a small town in Northern New Mexico, a great friend convinced me to go to college and study music (after serving in the military and working in the restaurant industry for 7 years).
I attended New Mexico State University and received a Bachelor's in Music Performance. I went on to Arizona State for my Masters Degree in Music Performance/Vocal Pedagogy.
I worked as a full time church music director in Phoenix and sang with the Phoenix Bach Choir (a professional 24 voice ensemble) for a couple of years.
My wife and I relocated to Kansas City, and for 12 years I worked as an adjunct Music Instructor at Johnson County Community College. During those years I worked for Asbury United Methodist Church in Prairie Village, KS as the Director of Music and Emerging Ministries.
My professional singing career began with roles in a number of operas and musical theatre, and continued as a professional chorister.
I was one of the tenor choristers on multiple Grammy Award Nominated and Winning CD's with the Kansas City Chorale and the Phoenix Chorale from 2003-2016. I also sang and recorded profesionally as a member of two additional professional choirs, Kantorei Kansas City, and Te Deum Sacred Ensemble.
I've sung with many other semi-professional and professional choirs as well, performing everything from Bach and Brahms to Stravinsky and 21st century works!
My wife and I moved to Chanute, KS in 2014 so I could devote my career to full time teaching, and we're loving small town life again!
